To renew the transmission system and exploit the exceptional technical characteristics, the variator has been improved: thus was born the Multivar MHR Next.

This new variator is the evolution of previous generations, born from the multi-year experience gained on the circuits and from the Cad-Cam technology available today, and it allows to achieve performances at the highest levels. The half mobile pulley is the characteristic component of the whole system and is therefore subject to constant evolution. Designed with a larger diameter than the original, it allows to obtain a considerably higher transmission ratio excursion than that of the original pulley.

The state-of-the-art CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) systems have allowed our technicians to analyze the movements of the entire vehicle in motion, in order to further optimize the pulley geometry and avoid collisions, even in the most critical conditions of use. The new reinforcing ribs, designed to lighten the less critical areas, allow to reduce inertia and, consequently, dissipate a smaller amount of energy from the engine. For an aesthetic effect of great impact, the MALOSSI and MULTIVAR logos have been subjected to a diamond cutting process. The change curve highlights that the work of the technicians has been focused on the further enlargement of the operating range of the variator, especially the short speed, gaining even more acceleration and recovery, as well as improving the linearity of change, keeping the engine speed almost unchanged throughout the variator change phase.

We've done better: we've further reduced the tolerances between the hub and the sleeve and we've greatly reduced the roughness to achieve a truly incomparable variator!
